“In the midst of chaos, there is also opportunity”
― Sun-Tzu, The Art of War
Serving in the armed forces or being a spouse of a service member instills a deep sense of honor, commitment, and camaraderie that is unique to military life. However, the transition back to civilian life can evoke a myriad of emotions. This is where effective healing approaches can play a crucial role, easing the life changes that accompany this shift. Techniques that address PTSD symptoms can help service members find peace and clarity without the need to relive traumatic experiences. As someone who holds military families close to my heart, being a wife of a Medically Retired Marine with Brothers both of whom were Honorably discharged & Retired, I feel privileged to support them in their journey, recognizing the sacrifices they have made for our country. My firsthand experiences with various challenges faced by service members and their Families enable me to offer guidance that is empathetic and tailored to their unique needs.
Living in and out of the military lifestyle has offered me a unique perspective on the intricate tapestry of friendships and life experiences. Over 15 years, I’ve seen firsthand how moving every three years can significantly influence children, bringing both positive and challenging adjustments. Supporting my husband, brother, and brother-in-law as they transitioned from military service to civilian life has also been an eye-opening journey. The ups and downs they experience shape not only the service members but also their families. When difficulties arise in processing these unique experiences, I’ve found that a holistic healing approach can be both effective and profound, providing a sacred space for understanding and growth. Each chapter closed or opened in this journey contributes to lasting bonds and resilience that define our military community.
